International Mineralogical Association

Announcement

The International Mineralogical Association PhD Student award is intended to honor and support outstanding students by providing them the opportunity to present their research at an international level, forge new collaborations and ideas, and further develop their career.

The award is intended to support participation in an international conference with a strong involvement of the IMA. In 2018, the meeting of choice is naturally the XXII Meeting of the IMA, which will be held in Melbourne, Australia, from 13 to 17 August, 2018 (https://www.ima2018.com/).

Each award will be 1,400 USD and is intended to be used for conference registration fees and related travel expenses. Four young scientists will be awarded at the 2018 call.

Anyone who is enrolled in, and is still within the first five years of, a full-time PhD program in mineralogy (or a closely related discipline) is eligible to apply. Applicants should provide a CV (including a list of publications), a letter of support from their advisor, and a cover letter detailing their PhD project and achievements, and explaining how this award will benefit their research and professional development. Nominations from PhD research advisors (containing the same supporting documentation as above) are also welcome. The submission of an abstract to the 2018 IMA meeting is mandatory for the application to be valid.

The applications and nominations for 2018 should be submitted as a single PDF file to

(patrick.cordier@univ-lille1.fr) with a copy to
