Objectives
The objectives of WGIM is to bring mineral inclusion researchers together for scientific exchanges, promoting technological awareness and technology development in mineral inclusion researches, and therefore to support researches in related fields including but not limited to mineralogy, petrology, mineral deposit study, geochemistry, astrochemistry, tectonic geology, and petroleum geology, etc.

The WGIM was instituted in July 1986 during the 14th General Meeting of the IMA at Stanford, California, USA.See the Historical development of WGIM by Zaolin Li (up to 2003)


News from the WGIM officers (26/2/2010)
In 2010, WGIM will participate to :
1) The IMA General meeting, where WGIM is sponsoring the Session D45 "Fluid in the Earth"
2) 3rd Asian Conference on Current Research on Fluid Inclusions (ACROFI III).
This Conference is organizing in the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy, Novosibirsk, Russia.

The WGIM has working to establish the Asian Current Research on Fluid Inclusions (ACROFI).
ACROFI is a parallel of ECROFI and PACROFI. The first meeting of ACROFI occured in May 2006 (26-28) in Nanjing.
